Punctuality

Being on time in the workplace is vital. Some employers place less importance on it than others. If you were the CEO/owner of a company, what would your policy be about punctuality?

Josh(swgatc)Punctuality is a very vital part of any business no matter the job punctuality is the one thing every employer is looking for in his or her business. Not only does being punctuality look good to your employers but it also looks good to the customers and employees, if you start by leading a good example then other people will take notice and try to do the same thing and that start a trend. It also shows the kind of character someone has and what kind of devotion someone has for their career. Over all punctuality is the key that unlocks every opportunity behind the locked doors

I personally believe that punctuality is an important role with any job in life.So i think that if i were CEO/owner of a company, my policy about punctuality would be important because you should be on time for things.I think it would be reasonable if someone came in a little late as long as they didn't make it into a habit and being later and later everyday and then when it became a problem then i would talk with the person about the situation and let them know that if it continuously keeps happening something major would be done even if it was losing there job.

I own a business of my own so I know how hard it is to get employees to do what they are supposed to do. It is really hard to be an employer. I believe that employees should try really hard to give an employer 100%. I don’t really care about being at work on time as long as the employee works hard and gets jobs out on time. I don’t expect them to be really late unless they have a good excuse. There are a lot of businesses that have to have their employers there on time to be able to start the business. In those cases the employee needs to be on time. At every job I’ve worked, I’ve always been on time.

Leona(SWGATC)If I were the CEO/ owner, my punctuality policy would be…. As long u don’t make a habit of being late 10 minutes or more you will be fine but when you get here get to work ASAP. My parents ran their own business for thirty-two years harvesting mangoes and I learned that alot of employees like to take advantage. I was one of their daughters but I also had to set an example for everyone else. This type of work was all manual labor (back breaking work). Some employees showed up late or didn’t show up at all. A Phone call was great though. Punctuality really wasn’t a big deal but just simply not showing up was. Because it was such hard work, being there ready to work was more important than running a few minutes late to work. It is very important to have punctuality policies at your place of employment. Being prompt to work and prepared says alot about the person and type of employee you are to any company. Be punctual....

Punctuality is very important. It tells a lot about a person. If I were the owner of my own business i would expect my employers to get there on time. They should always show up on time. It shows that they are ready to work, and are responsiable. I understand there will be times when everyone is late, but if it is constant you will be fired. When your on time it is a great work ethic, and means that you are a good worker. Thats what i would be looking for in my employee.I would rather have someone that is on time working for me than somone who is'nt.

I believe being on time shows that a person is ready and willing to do the job. It also means that the person cares about their job. As a CEO/owner I would implement a policy that would require employees to be on time and ready to work. It would be a no nonsense policy because believe that once you give people a little bit of room they seem to want to start taking advantage of the situation. If you’re late three times you’re fired. My reasoning would be simple. If a person doesn’t want to be on time and ready to work. That’s fine with me because I know that there are more people wanting his job. Therefore I wouldn’t tolerate his/her work ethnics when I know I can someone else willing to do the job to the best of their ability.

The reason most employers put so much importance into their employees being on time is because being on time and ready to work helps show the employers how much their employees value their job. By being on time they show that they respect their job and their responsibilities. Another good reason to be on time or early is that employees can get a head start on the day’s workload which could lower the amount of stress they might feel that day on the job. In short being on time or early can be highly beneficial to a employee and it might help their employers to feel more confident in them.

Ronald(SWGATC)I believe in being punctual, it is probably one of the most important parts of a job. Everyone has had a job where someone is always late and it affects everybody. I believe in being ten minutes early because it shows the company that you are willing to be there on time and it gives you that extra few minutes to get prepared for work. Now days the younger people in the work force aren’t like they use to be, their always showing up late and going home early and in a lot of the smaller businesses that can have catastrophic consequences that may make the company have to close the doors.
