This is very disturbing. I do not belive many people know this is happing at all. We should speak out,and try to get help for them. They should feel safe in their own country, and soldiers are sopoused to protect the people not use them. They should be punished for what they are doing. I'm not really sure what the people in our country can do for them, but I know they can do something. The least they could do is pray for them. Their is always power in prayer. We should try to seek out ways to offer them suppport and help.

I actually watched about this on Oprah several months back and I think this is just disgusting and it makes me sick to think about the things that they do and I do think that it is time for somebody to step in and resolve this matter. It is just a disturbing thought to think of how they treat the women in other countries and I think it is just not humane to sit by and let someone put a human being through a living hell. I don’t know what else that can be said besides it is time to put a stop to it and we need to figure out a way to stop the senseless acts.

Allow me to start out by saying that I am no monster, I do believe that the people doing this should be held responsible and even killed themselves. I wish with the snap of fingers it could go away. However, as I have said before, this country cannot afford to play the role of mom, and dad to the world. This country has enough on its plate, and a big enough debt to last us several generations, because of wars and such. I believe that the only we as Americans can do is to try to raise awareness, through mass media, fundraisers and The U.N. council. It is time that the U.N. council quit playing teddy bear and start bringing the hammer down on such monstrosities. I have deep respect for these women and children who have spoken out and for the ones who remain silent.

Leona(SWGATC)The rapes and attacks that are happening in The Congo have been going on for a long time. Most people do not know anything about what is happening there. The people need to be better aware of what’s going on. These women and children continue to be humiliated by these soldiers and sometimes killed due to their beliefs. The soldiers say “They rape women because it brings them Good luck”. This is by far immoral and degrading to women. They are treated like garbage. Their village disowns them once they are raped. I couldn’t imagine that happening here. It seems that the United States is the only country that protects their women. Something should be done about this, but due to the economic stress and poverty here in the U.S.: there are only limited things that can be done to help stop these brutal attacks from continuing.

We should do absolutely nothing. We can not be the police for the whole world. I’m sorry that’s going on but there are really bad things happening in the United States also. We can’t keep doing everything for everyone else and forgetting about us. We are giving money away everyday that could help a lot of hungry, homeless people right here in the US. I would like to know when our Government is going to see what’s going on and stop all this craziness. We have got to start taking care of us for a change before we look around and see that it’s all gone and there is nothing we can do about it.
