Role Models

Many people look to others for guidance and support. For some, their parents are the epitome of success. Who has attributes that exemplify success as a man/woman that you aspire to emulate? Why?

My father is the epitome of success in my eyes. I believe the reason I feel this way is because as a child growing up my father has always been a very respected man. When he is wrong he will admit it. When it seemed as though the world is falling apart he is always the one I see standing tall and bearing the weight. He has always done what ever it is he has to do to ensure that his family and friends are taken care of. He never hesitates to help someone. Although he is a very kind person, he takes no “BS’ from anyone and I admire that. I hope to one day become atleast half the man that my father is.

Leona(SWGATC)There is a special person I look up to for my support and guidance. That person is my best friend Christy Roy. She has always been there for support mentally and emotionally. She helped me by giving me advice in what direction I need to take in my life. Considering in last two years, she has seen me go through so many ups and downs and has in any way left me stranded. Christy is older, wiser and has been through more complicated situations than I have. I have been friends with her for more than 6 years and she has set a good great example for me to follow. I look up to her. I aspire to emulate her and plan to emulate her success into my own life ahead of me.

Josh(SWGATC) My father is the role model i have always looked to for advice in any situation no matter how right or wrong i might have been. He will always at least hear what i have to say about the subject. My father has never been one to take any Bs from anyone no matter who they are or who they think they are. The only thing i hear about my father is that he is the most hard working respectable person that they have ever met. I have always emulated my fathers work ethic, if there is anything that my father can do for you you can consider it done and i respect that more than anything.

I guess I’ve never had a role model. There isn’t anyone who I would like to model myself after. There is a lot of people that I have watched and decided that I wasn’t going to be anything like them. I’ve managed to be a respectable person and liked by a lot of people without having a role model. I believe you can do anything as long as you set your mind to it. I’ve always done what I wanted, when I wanted to and I think I turned out pretty well. I do hope that I am a role model for my kids though. I’d love for me to look at me and say “Mama never let anything get in her way!”
